Cherry Burton Arts are hosting a special event to help boost funds for the Village Hall. The music evening on SATURDAY 22 FEBRUARY 8pm will feature no less than FOUR local bands that have their roots in the small village just north of Beverley. On ‘one stage for one night only’ there will be sets from STRAWBERRY MOON, NO PARKING FOR CARAVANS, CHERRY BURTONES and THE BAY HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE.
The event has been described as a ‘glorious entertaining mixture of songs, tunes and styles from four very different local acts all with their roots in Cherry Burton. The evening will also include a nostalgic look at the village using slides of archive photos-making a great social event for all. From the unaccompanied barber-shop style vocals of the Cherry Burtones, through the great songs of No Parking for Caravans, and Strawberry Moon, the evening can only be complete with the songs and tunes from the band names after the village pub – The Bay Horsemen of the Apocalypse. This should be a great night from start to finish.
Cherry Burton Arts organiser Martin Peirson added “We have some wonderful arts events in the hall- and to have a night to support the ongoing fundraising appeal seemed like a good idea-especially involving these home grown acts!
