Cherry Burton villagers have arranged a PARTY IN THE PARK to take place on SATURDAY 21 JULY between 7-10pm in the grounds of the village school. The fundraising family event will feature live music from ALL NIGHT LONG and STIKKYFINGERS, with outside bar and food outlets.
Cherryaid is the name of the recently formed fundraising group behind this event set up to raise money for the Friends of Cherry Burton School and The Friends of St Michaels and All Angels Church. The Party in the Park will follow the long established annual Village Show that takes place during the afternoon, so can take advantage of the infrastructure used for that event- and continue into the evening.
The gates will open at 6.30pm in time for music from 7pm when local Rolling Stones tribute act STIKKYFINGERS will kick of the evening with lots of well-known songs from “the greatest rock and roll band in the world”. They claim not to look like them but to SOUND like them!
The audience will then be treated to lots of well-known contemporary hits from one of the best party bands around ALL NIGHT LONG – perfect for dancing to!
There will be a choice of food courtesy of 2Chefs of Beverley including burgers, pulled pork with sauce, plus exciting street food and vegetarian options, and an outside bar courtesy of the village pub, The Bay Horse. People can bring their own picnic if preferred- note plastic glasses only on site.
Cherryaid organiser Andy Lindsay explained “We are putting this together to help two village organisations – by having a wonderful time! The event will be family friendly and we hope to see as many villagers and friends there as possible but extend the welcome to anyone in the area that would like to support us.”
