The Open Door Community Café (situated in the St.Michael’s Centre behind the church) is a social enterprise run by volunteers from the Church and the local community and managed by Andrea.
Our vision is to provide a place where people can meet, chat and be; a place where not only is there great company, but great food, great coffee and tea at reasonable prices; a place for the community, in the community, run by members of the community.
With this in mind, we seek to promote sustainable communities through sourcing local produce and selling Fairtrade products where possible. Our milk comes from cows a mile down the road, our meat from a butcher in Hutton Cranswick where the sausages are made onsite with local ingredients and our bread comes from an East Yorkshire bakery.
Tea and Coffee is supplied by The Indigo Valley Coffee Company who are based a little further away in Oxfordshire and is all Fairtrade certified.
As for the cakes, bakes and soups, all these are made by our wonderful team of volunteer home chefs.
